The Cumberland Hotel

Coming from London on A11 or from Ipswich on A140, you will connect with the Southern Bypass

All routes into Norwich connect with the Southern Bypass which is signposted A47 to Great Yarmouth. Ignore all signs to Norwich City Centre until you reach a sign which says Norwich City Centre to the left (Football Traffic -- County Hall -- Trowse)

At lights turn left towards City Centre, proceed to the next lights and turn right. Keep in the right-hand lane for Ring Road Traffic. At the roundabout take the second exit (for City Centre and Ring Road) keeping in the right-hand lane. At the lights turn right into King Street, passing Colmans Mustard on your right, bear right over the River Bridge passing the Football Ground to your right. After 100 yards you will approach traffic lights (adjacent to Morrisons Supermarket which will be on your left). Keep in the right-hand lane and turn right following the signs (Ring Road -- A47 Great Yarmouth / Thorpe St. Andrew). As you follow the road round to the left you pass over a railway bridge, proceed up the hill and keep in the right-hand lane. At the lights turn right sign-posted Great Yarmouth A1242.

When on Thorpe Road, keep in the left-hand lane following the sign Great Yamouth A47.

The Cumberland Hotel is on the left-hand side with four large flagpoles and an AA sign in front of the Hotel.
